Joshua Albano Actor

Joshua Albano was born in a small town on the East of the Netherlands. His father is of Italian and mother of Dutch nationality. Joshua has been acquainted to theatre world from a young age, however decided to pursue a business direction based on the courses he decided to take on in high school, and spent a lot of time working a part-time job as a pizza-baker given his Italian roots. By 2013, he eventually got to pursue his true passion, namely theatre. He took the bold step to drop out of University pursuing the Bachelor of Economics, and took part in auditions to find a place in the HKU Utrecht Academy of the Arts which he ultimately managed to get.
Through the course of theatre studies, Joshua got the opportunity to explore and develop his skills as an actor on a theoretical and practical setting, both on stage and behind the camera. Moreover, he’s managed to put his acting skills to practical use as an actor for the Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands. This he does namely on a freelance basis in regard to police and military aggression training in which he takes up different roles in diverse real-life as well as simulated settings.
Joshua is characterised as a compelling character on stage through taking on diverse roles which he successfully portrays in a natural and effortless demeanour. Moreover, considering his multi-cultural background, he also has a grasp for verbal and body language which allows him to empathise with different character roles effectively and operatively. This way, he has managed to produce several roles as part of his curriculum and career.
Some instances of some works he takes pride in characterising the diverse roles he has taken part in are as follows:
• Theatre solo role playing as a Polish immigrant-worker enduring through the hardships of assimilating into a foreign environment
• An autistic child exploring the surroundings around him in a group production of HKU called “Idoioten” (translated as “Idiots”)
• Playing a reminiscent character of “La Famiglia’s” (NPO channel exclusive series) lead character as “Young Salvatore”
• A drug dealer in Flikken Maastricht (Dutch Drama series broadcasted on NPO 1)
• American Soldier fighting in the World War
