Krystian Kostow Actor

I am a Warsaw-based film and theatre actor with professional experience in screen, stage, music and movement. I graduated in Acting from Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University in Kraków, where I received a Master of Fine Arts degree.

I started working in front of the camera as a child. One of my first major professional experiences was a regular role as Kazik Wróblewski in the Polish television series “Na Wspólnej”. I later appeared as Chudzielec in Jan Komasa’s internationally acclaimed feature film “Corpus Christi”. Growing up on set gave me an early sense of ease in front of the camera, while my later training helped me develop a more conscious and precise approach to screen acting.

What interests me most as an actor is authenticity. I am drawn to characters who are complex, contradictory and not immediately easy to read. I like working with subtext, tension and small behavioural details rather than obvious external effects. My approach is rooted in realism, close observation of human behaviour and a strong sense of presence within the scene.

Alongside my screen work, I have developed extensive stage experience. I currently perform at Teatr Nowy Proxima in Kraków and Teatr Capitol in Warsaw. My theatre background includes dramatic, musical, dance-based and performance work. One of the roles that had a particularly strong impact on me was Lawrence Shannon in Tennessee Williams’ “The Night of the Iguana”.

Movement and music are an important part of my artistic background. I have trained in hip-hop since childhood, which has given me strong body awareness, rhythm and physical coordination. I sing, rap and create my own music, and I continue to develop my vocal skills at a State Music School in Kraków. I am comfortable working on projects that combine acting with music, choreography or physical performance.

I have also been working professionally as a photographer for many years. Photography has strongly influenced the way I understand acting for the camera. Being behind the lens has taught me how framing, light, focus and even the smallest shift in expression can affect the way a character is perceived. It has also sharpened my observation of people and made me particularly sensitive to subtle, unplanned moments.

I naturally combine acting, photography, music and movement in my creative work. These disciplines inform one another and give me flexibility across different types of projects - from intimate, psychologically driven scenes to work that requires stronger physicality, rhythm, musicality or ensemble presence.

I value a working process based on trust, precision and collaboration. I respond well to clear direction, but I also appreciate space to explore, make proposals and find something unexpected within a scene. I am disciplined, reliable and experienced in both the demands of a film set and the continuity of regular theatre performances.

I am currently based in Warsaw and available to work throughout Poland and internationally. I hold a category B driving licence and bring together screen and stage experience with a strong background in music, movement and visual storytelling.
