Natascha Bondar Actress

Natascha Bondar is as versatile as an actress as her biography is varied.
She was born in the Ural Mountains and grew up on the peninsula, Krim, at the Black Sea. She studied acting and directing in Charkow (Ukraine) as well as in St. Petersburg at the Theatre Academy where she worked with one of the most legendary directing professors in the Soviet Union, Alexander Musil. While working in Irkutsk, she got intensely involved in the ancient Siberian Folklore. She started collecting rituals, traditions and chants that she later on incorporated into one of her solo concert programmes, "Mother Russia". In 1994 she Performed a short extract thereof, at the international competition for singing actors, "Andrej Mironov" in Moscow and was awarded the second prize. Since 1997 she has been living and working in Berlin. Under her leadership of the "Dokumentar Theater Ensemble" for many years, various performances at international theatre festivals followed as well as several important accolades, amongst others, the prize for best directing. During 2008 she started the organisation, "Theater Lieder und Worte" und devotes herself to cross-cultural issues and multi-sectoral methods. She writes poems and songs and together with her band, Madam Schascha, presents them to a wide ranged audience. Quite a number of her acting students have been accepted into some of the most renowned acting schools in Europe. Yet, in the first instance, she remains an accomplished actress in her own right who would, if she had to choose between a most promising directing job and an acting part, go for the latter without hesitating. As an actress, she can be extremely versatile; from very feminine to incredibly masculine. The strongest emotional expressions, whether in one take or repeated ever so often, she masters with the greatest of ease and astonishing intensity.
